1) Agri-tech and food-tech innovation funding in East of England
Innovate UK has opened a new Launchpad funding competition for micro and small business innovators working in agri-tech and food-tech. It will host an online Q&A session about the competition (and four other Launchpad competitions) on 14 May 2024 from 10:00-11:30. 2) Innovation funding for creative businesses in East of England
The Create Growth Programme from the Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) aims to invest around £3m to help creative businesses develop innovation projects that stimulate growth. 3) Research and tech support worth £15k for manufacturing SMEs
SMEs who qualify for Innovate UK Business Growth funding can apply for technical, business and innovation support from TWI. Further details on eligibility here: Funded Business and Innovation Support for UK-based SMEs – TWI Innovation Network (twi-global.com).
4) Innovation Grant Mentoring helps SMEs apply for funding
Does your business need advice on how to apply for Innovate UK funding? If so and you are in Norfolk or Suffolk, check out the Innovation Grant Mentoring project run by the County Councils. It can provide mentoring and bid writing support to help you secure the funding you need to develop your projects or ideas. Details here: Innovation grant mentoring project.
5) Suffolk promotes car-free travel to visitor attractions
A new, two-year initiative aims to encourage more people to explore Suffolk’s cultural and leisure destinations by foot, bike or public transport. It will incentives and discounts to residents and visitors who leave the car at home and travel sustainably. The scheme supports Suffolk’s Greenest County ambition and demonstrates the county’s commitment to a carbon net zero visitor economy by 2030. 6) SME manufacturers embrace ‘Made Smarter’ technologies
Made Smarter has helped 300 manufacturers invest £22.5m in digital tools and technologies over five years. This has supported 1,600 new jobs, 2,850 upskilled roles, and boosted the UK economy by £242m. Find out more: Equipping UK manufacturing with digital tech.
